Melon man was born in Malaysia. now he lives in Birmingham. He also now does carving for special occasions like weddings, birthdays and much more. Also he does carvings lessons and teaches kids to carve. David Loh is a Malaysia-born and internationally trained chef and food artist. Based in Birmingham, UK, David is a highly regarded chef who has worked at many of the finest Asian restaurants in the city producing a unique range of his own dishes which combine Cantonese, Singaporean and Malaysian flavours.His passion for food has also led him to perfect the ancient art of fruit and vegetable carving. As well as carving the traditional flowers and figures that sometimes accompany Chinese meals, David produces an almost limitless range of designs in every available fruit and vegetable, often based on the ideas and identities of his clients.David has a number of projects in the pipeline including a series of carving classes to spread knowledge of the art to a wider audience; a collection of books aimed at helping parents to make fruit and vegetables a bigger part of their children’s diets; and a cookery book combining his own original recipes and his carving art.He sculpts particularly with melons, and aspires to perfect his designs with smaller fruits to create an animated series of fruit sculptured characters to entertain children and raise awareness as to the value of fruit in nutrition.
Already an attraction throughout the west midlands, David has worked on his unique art form for restaurants and business events, including the Chinese delegation promoting business and commerce.

Recently, David won a bronze medal in Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup at Luxembourg, November 2010.
Recently, 2013 New Taipei City fruit Carving Contest and International Fruit Carving Art Exchange, David was one of the judges in the said competition and he was invited by Taipei government and he was featured in different televisions in Taiwan.
